GLP-1 Program FAQ

Below you will find Frequently Asked Questions regarding the GLP-1 Program.

What is the MDDPC Weight Management Program?

MDDPC manages a clinically guided Weight Management Program designed to help patients achieve sustainable weight loss through medically supervised care, advanced GLP-1/GIP therapies, and ongoing physician oversight.
The program combines convenience, clinical safety, and predictable pricing and managed directly through CareValet's Platform.

What are the medications in the program?

MDDPC offers two advanced, evidence-based medications: semaglutide and tirzepatide.

  • Semaglutide is a GLP-1 (Glucagon-Like Peptide-1) receptor agonist that helps reduce appetite and improve glucose control.
  • Tirzepatide is a dual GIP and GLP-1 receptor agonist (“twincretin”) that engages two metabolic pathways to enhance weight loss and improve insulin sensitivity.
Both medications are prescribed based on clinical review and are included at one flat monthly price, regardless of dosage level or titration stage.

Whose eligible and how do assessments work?

MDDPC manages a structured eligibility review process beginning with an online process. This form collects information directly from the member.  A provider reviews each submission to determine medical appropriateness.
In general, adults with a BMI of 27 or greater (or 25+ with related conditions such as hypertension or insulin resistance) may qualify, provided there are no contraindications such as pregnancy, severe gastrointestinal disease, or certain thyroid conditions.

How is Medication and Dosage Determined and Managed?

MDDPC physicians determine which medication is best suited for each member based on the assessment submitted.
Dosing starts low and increases gradually to optimize results and minimize side effects.
Dosages may be reviewed every 90 days as part of a quarterly review or sooner if requested by the patient.

Physician Access and Ongoing Care?

Each MDDPC membership includes up to six virtual physician visits per year, covering quarterly evaluations and additional consultations for progress or medication adjustments.
All visits occur through MDDPC’s platform. Patients may contact their provider through the portal to request a check-in or dosage review.

Membership and Pricing?

The program operates entirely on a direct membership model at $245 per month*, which includes:

  • Provider oversight and six annual visits
  • All medication doses (semaglutide or tirzepatide)
  • Medication shipping and support
  • Note: Some group healthplans may cover all or part of the payment

There are no hidden fees or insurance requirements just transparent pricing and predictable care.
